  • Antony Blinken
Antony Blinken “I saw that Huawei just put out a new laptop that it boasted was AI capable, that uses an Intel chip. I think it demonstrates that what we're focused on is only the most sensitive technology that could pose a threat to our security. We're not focused on cutting off trade, or for that matter containing or holding back China.” 21 minutes ago
  • Connor Fiddler
Connor Fiddler “Nearly half of the Indo-Pacific appropriations directly reinforce the submarine industrial base. While this investment will enhance deterrence in the Indo-Pacific, the immediate impact will be supporting the American economy.” 20 hours ago
  • Chen Jining
Chen Jining “Whether China and the U.S. choose cooperation or confrontation, it affects the well-being of both peoples, of both nations, and also the future of humanity.” 23 hours ago
  • Xi Jinping
Xi Jinping “I proposed mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and win-win cooperation to be the three overarching principles. They are both lessons learned from the past and a guide for the future.” 23 hours ago
  • Xie Tao
Xie Tao “China knows that it likely has little room to sway the United States on trade. The Chinese government seems to be putting its focus on people-to-people exchanges. The Chinese government is really investing a lot of energy in shaping the future generation of Americans' view of China.” 23 hours ago
  • Yi Wang
Yi Wang “The United States has adopted an endless stream of measures to suppress China's economy, trade, science and technology. This is not fair competition but containment, and is not removing risks but creating risks.” 23 hours ago
  • Antony Blinken
Antony Blinken “China alone is producing more than 100 percent of global demand for products like solar panels and electric vehicles, and was responsible for one-third of global production but only one-tenth of global demand. This is a movie that we've seen before, and we know how it ends. With American businesses shuttered and American jobs lost.” 23 hours ago

“There was no message from Kim Jong-un toward South Korea or the U.S. in the ruling Workers' Party of Korea plenum in late December. Pyongyang has been remaining unresponsive to the Moon government's call for an end-of-war declaration and the latest missile launch is just another sign that there are no changes in Pyongyang's stance on the matter, that they want withdrawal of what they call hostile policies by South Korea and the U.S. such as joint military drills. But the U.S. government has said the U.S.-South Korea joint drills in March would be conducted as scheduled.”

“The North responded to the South's call for the restoration of communications July 27, the day which the North claims as an anniversary of its victory (in the Korean War). There is the possibility that the North has demanded the South cancel its joint military drill with the U.S.. At the eighth congress of the North's ruling Workers' Party of Korea, the country's leader Kim Jong-un said there were two preconditions for inter-Korean talks - the first was the cancellation of South Korea-U.S. joint military exercises and the second was stopping the introduction of advanced weapons from the U.S.”

“I made up my mind to ask the WPK [Workers' Party of Korea] organizations at all levels, including its Central Committee, and the cell secretaries of the entire party to wage another more difficult Arduous March in order to relieve our people of difficulties. Our party never expects that there will be any fortuitous opportunity for us in paving the road for our people and in realizing their great aim and ideals to build socialism and communism. There is nothing we could depend on or look to.”
