  • Eric Adams
Eric Adams “We cannot allow what should be a lawful protest to turn into a violent spectacle that saves and serves no purpose. There's no place for acts of hate in our city. I want to continue to commend the professionalism of the police department and to thank Columbia University. It was a tough decision, we understood that. But with the very clear evidence of their observation and the clear evidence from our intelligence division, that they understood it was time to move and the action had to end and we brought it to a peaceful conclusion.” 6 hours ago
  • Sergei Shoigu
Sergei Shoigu “To maintain the required pace of the offensive … it is necessary to increase the volume and quality of weapons and military equipment supplied to the troops, primarily weapons.” 6 hours ago

“Russia is being threatened with arrests of assets of Russian citizens and companies abroad - just like that, without any sanctions, in a carpet fashion, out of spite. This must be responded to in a quite symmetric manner. With arrest of assets of foreigners and foreign companies in Russia based on country principle. And maybe, with nationalization of property of people registered in unfriendly jurisdictions. Like the EU, EU member states and a number of singing-along states of the Anglo-Saxon world that will take part in this. Thankfully, we have vast experience and we have a law on this issue. A harsh one. So the most interesting stuff only begins.”

“This is the first tranche, the first barrage of what we are prepared to do. It is absolutely vital that we hold in reserve further powerful sanctions...in view of what President Putin may do next. We want to stop Russian companies from being able to raise funds in sterling or indeed in dollars.”

“What the legislation enables us to do is hit a much wider variety of targets. So there can be nobody who thinks that they will be immune to those sanctions. Any company of interest to the Kremlin and the regime in Russia would be able to be targeted so there will be nowhere to hide for Putin's oligarchs, for Russian companies involved in propping up the Russian state.”
