  • Rina Shah
Rina Shah “Protests in US universities are a display of democracy in action, a welcome sight in an election year marked by concerns of voter apathy chiefly due to Israel's war on Gaza. So when I see a movement like this of students taking peaceful, non-violent action and expressing their concern about the US government backing of Israel, of where our tax money is going, I think that's extremely healthy. These students are out there concerned about America's role in backing Benjamin Netanyahu. On the one hand, we are supplying weapons and funds to do what he wants to do in Gaza, while on the other we are sending humanitarian aid to Gaza. This is the hypocrisy these students are concerned about.” 7 hours ago
  • Thomas Friedman
Thomas Friedman “But revenge is not a strategy. It is pure insanity that Israel is now more than six months into this war and the Israeli military leadership - and virtually the entire political class - has allowed Netanyahu to continue to pursue a 'total victory' there, including probably soon plunging deep into Rafah, without any exit plan or Arab partner lined up to step in once the war ends. If Israel ends up with an indefinite occupation of both Gaza and the West Bank, it would be a toxic military, economic and moral overstretch that would delight Israel's most dangerous foe, Iran, and repel all its allies in the West and the Arab world.” 7 hours ago
  • Volodymyr Zelenskiy
Volodymyr Zelenskiy “Of course, I'm grateful to all of our partners who have helped us with air defence: each air defence system and each air defence missile is literally saving lives. It's important that everything works out as quickly as possible: every new agreement with our partners to strengthen our air defence, every initiative from Ukraine's friends to help us, particularly with finding and supplying Patriot [anti-aircraft missile systems]. Ukraine needs at least seven [Patriot] systems. Our partners have these Patriots. Russian terrorists can see that unfortunately our partners aren't as determined to protect Europe from terror as they are to do so in the Middle East. But [our partners] can give us the air defence systems that we need. We mustn't waste time: we need to signal determination.” 11 hours ago
  • Antony Blinken
Antony Blinken “I saw that Huawei just put out a new laptop that it boasted was AI capable, that uses an Intel chip. I think it demonstrates that what we're focused on is only the most sensitive technology that could pose a threat to our security. We're not focused on cutting off trade, or for that matter containing or holding back China.” 16 hours ago

The IPSEs are presented in chronological order based on when the IPSEs have been pronounced.

“We are categorically opposed to this referendum. We are not saying 'no' to talks with the EU and we are not opposed to the EU. We oppose Sandu using it as an instrument for her own interests and those of her party. We are therefore asking voters during the campaign not to take part in the referendum.”

“I think that in the near future a referendum will be held on the territory of the republic. The people will exercise their ultimate constitutional right and express their opinion on joining the Russian Federation.”

“In 2020, Taiwan was [the US'] ninth-largest trading partner overall, and our seventh-largest consumer of agricultural goods. Only Canada and Mexico consume more on a per-capita basis of US goods, services and products than Taiwan does. Of course, whenever you have a close relationship, there will be obstacles, right? Nothing is ever perfect, but the obstacles that we have I would say are manageable. They're primarily technical in nature. We would love to see Taiwanese companies invest more in the United States. We would love to see and are ready to work on increasing Taiwanese consumers' confidence in American pork products. Now that we're through the referendum, there are a bunch of other issues related to technical certifications for various kinds of devices, but that's all stuff that we work on all the time.”

“Voters in Serbia decided to change the Constitution in order to improve the work and independence of their justice system. The substance and result of the 16 January referendum were about important rule of law reforms. This news moves Serbia another step forward on its European path.”

“Spoke to Albin Kurti and Aleksandar Vucic yesterday regarding the collection of votes in Kosovo for Sunday's constitutional referendum in Serbia. Collection of votes in the past has taken place through facilitation of the OSCE. People should be able to exercise their right to vote.”

“A referendum in the sovereign territory of another state is not a practice accepted by any democratic country. Serbs in Kosovo with dual citizenship can vote in Serbia's referendum by mail or in the liaison office in Pristina.”

“I do not rule out a referendum on Donbas in general. It might be about Donbas, it might be about Crimea, it might be about ending the war in general. So it may be that someone, this or that country can offer us certain conditions.”

“Taiwanese should maintain a rational and calm attitude to consider how they should vote and if their ballot would best benefit the country. Don't let the future of the nation be kidnapped by the interests of political parties, and don't let the country's major policies be sacrificed by political disagreements. Only the referendum can truly demonstrate the will of the people and make Taiwan's democracy progress one step further.”
