  • Itamar Yaar
Itamar Yaar “The American move to pause big bomb transfers is largely symbolic. But it's a sign of trouble and could become more of a problem if it is sustained. It's not some kind of American embargo on American munitions support, but I think it's some kind of diplomatic message to Mr Netanyahu that he needs to take into consideration American interests more than he has over the last few months. It's kind of a signal, a 'be careful'.” 4 hours ago
  • Vitalii Barabash
Vitalii Barabash “Around 700 people stayed in Avdiivka. The situation is not easy; regular checks are ongoing. The excitement of the majority of those who remained and waited for the Russians has long faded. Even those who didn't care admit now that it was far better under Ukraine's control. Because there is no evidence of democracy or that it was 'liberators' that came to them.” 6 hours ago
  • Alan Boswell
Alan Boswell “The Sudanese have basically been forgotten, obviously there's the war in Gaza which has taken a lot of attention. Frankly it would take very high-level political focus on trying to pressure those who are arming the various sides and have the actual belligerence themselves to stop this. Obviously, the United Nations tools are not very functional.” 8 hours ago
  • Benjamin Netanyahu
Benjamin Netanyahu “No amount of pressure … will stop Israel from defending itself and achieving its war objectives. Eighty years ago in the Holocaust, the Jewish people were totally defenceless against those who sought our destruction. No nation came to our aid. I pledge here today from Jerusalem on this Holocaust Remembrance Day: If Israel is forced to stand alone, Israel will stand alone. But we know we are not alone because countless decent people around the world support our just cause.” 11 hours ago
  • Vladimir Putin
Vladimir Putin “We know what the exorbitance of such ambitions leads to. Russia will do everything to prevent a global clash. But at the same time, we will not allow anyone to threaten us. Our strategic forces are always in a state of combat readiness.” 11 hours ago

“The US doesn't want to give the credit of mediating the Palestine-Israel conflict to China, especially when China is the president of the UNSC [UN Security Council]. This is a key reason why the US is reluctant to let the mediation work go through the UNSC. Every time the UN meets to talk about the Palestine-Israel conflict, the US always sits in the the dock for the defendant, so Washington normally prefers to engage with both sides under the table rather than letting the international community get involved. This is the key reason why any solution or ceasefire between Israel and Gaza or other forces in the region would be temporary. The Biden administration always says its diplomacy prioritizes human rights, especially when interfering in other countries' internal affairs, but when there is horrific human rights disaster caused by its ally's military operations in Gaza, which is an overreaction to Hamas' attack, the hypocrisy and double standards of the US has been exposed again.”

“Hamas and Islamic Jihad are single-handedly responsible for the escalation that has led to the bloodshed of Israelis and Palestinians. No nation should be subject to a barrage of rocket fire like what we see on this easel on a civilian population. Without the Iron Dome air defence system, the loss of life would be worse than the nightmare before us today.”

“To read the statements from President [Joe] Biden, Secretary [of State Antony] Blinken, General [Lloyd] Austin and leaders of both parties, you would hardly know Palestinians existed at all. There has been no recognition of the attack on Palestinian families being ripped from their homes right now. No mention of children being detained or murdered. No recognition of a sustained campaign of harassment and terror by Israeli police against worshippers kneeling down and praying and celebrating the holiest days in one of their holiest places, no mention of Al-Aqsa being surrounded by violence, tear gas, smoke, while people pray.”

“These are events that we are looking at very seriously. We are monitoring very closely and I remind that an investigation has opened and the evolution of these events could also be something we look at. This is just to alert people on all sides not to escalate, to be careful to avoid taking actions that will result in the commission of (war) crimes.”

“Stop the fire immediately. We're escalating towards a full scale war. Leaders on all sides have to take the responsibility of deescalation. The cost of war in Gaza is devastating & is being paid by ordinary people. UN is working with all sides to restore calm. Stop the violence now.”

“We couldn’t allow the Palestinians to stand as a roadblock to a broader Middle East peace. So we went to our friends and partners and allies and we built political capital. And one way we built political capital in Israel was by moving the embassy to Jerusalem, one way we did it was by recognising the Golan Heights, as Israeli territory. These were facts that were never going to change on the ground. Jerusalem was never going to change being the capital of Israel. Israel was never going to give the Golan Heights back to Assad or any other regime in Syria. We did the same thing. We built political capital with Bahrain, with Morocco with the UAE by letting them know that we would stand with them, by getting out of the Iran nuclear deal which was a serious threat to the region.”

“In order to advance these objectives the Biden administration will restore credible US engagement with Palestinians as well as Israelis. This will involve renewing US relations with the Palestinian leadership and Palestinian people. President Biden has been clear that he intends to restore US assistance programs that support economic development programs and humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people, and to take steps to reopen diplomatic relations that were closed by the last US administration.”

“The Palestine policy is our red line. It is impossible for us to accept Israel’s Palestine policies. Their merciless acts there are unacceptable. If there were no issues at the top level, our ties could have been very different. We would like to bring our ties to a better point.”

“Regarding the normalisation of relations between Morocco and Israel, we welcome that normalisation, as we have welcomed each and every one of the normalisations that have taken place in recent weeks. Regarding peace between Israelis and Palestinians, that remains an issue to be resolved. And the question of Western Sahara remains to be resolved. And in both cases, Spain’s position is very clear regarding that the United Nations resolutions need to be sought as a way to resolve those two questions.”

“We've put an offer to their leadership on the table that will enable them to have a state and self-determination and an economic plan that could revitalise their economy, but we can't want peace more than they want peace and so when they are ready the whole region is very excited to help lift them up and move them forward but they can't be stuck in the past. Peace will be ready for them and opportunity will be ready for them as soon as they're ready to embrace it.”
