  • Karine Jean-Pierre
Karine Jean-Pierre “Americans have the right to peacefully protest. Forcibly taking over a building is not peaceful.” 11 hours ago
  • Janet Yellen
Janet Yellen “Treasury has consistently warned that companies will face significant consequences for providing material support for Russia's war, and the U.S. is imposing them today on almost 300 targets.” 11 hours ago
  • Catherine Russell
Catherine Russell “Over 200 days of war have already killed or maimed tens of thousands of children in Gaza. For hundreds of thousands of children in the border city of Rafah, there is added fear of an escalated military operation that would bring catastrophe on top of catastrophe for children. Nearly all of the some 600,000 children now crammed into Rafah are either injured, sick, malnourished, traumatised or living with disabilities.” 11 hours ago
  • Eric Adams
Eric Adams “We cannot allow what should be a lawful protest to turn into a violent spectacle that saves and serves no purpose. There's no place for acts of hate in our city. I want to continue to commend the professionalism of the police department and to thank Columbia University. It was a tough decision, we understood that. But with the very clear evidence of their observation and the clear evidence from our intelligence division, that they understood it was time to move and the action had to end and we brought it to a peaceful conclusion.” 19 hours ago
  • Sergei Shoigu
Sergei Shoigu “To maintain the required pace of the offensive … it is necessary to increase the volume and quality of weapons and military equipment supplied to the troops, primarily weapons.” 19 hours ago

“This was a predictable development of the situation on the ground. The tension has been brewing in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, since October 7. More than 7,000 Palestinians have been detained, almost 400 Palestinians killed by Israeli soldiers and settlers. The situation was being described as a pressure cooker, and now we've seen just how that pressure would explode in a very deadly and tragic manner. The writing was on the wall, and anyone who didn't see it just didn't want to.”

“We will in no way agree to this plan, which says Palestinians deserve a prize for the terrible massacre they carried out against us: a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital. A Palestinian state is an existential threat to the State of Israel as was proven on Oct. 7.”

“But at this point, Israel needs to be more sensitive concerning its Palestinian policy. It needs to be sensitive about Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque. As soon as we detect the sensitivities, we will do our best and take steps [for better ties].”

“We think it's a bad idea. Jerusalem is the sovereign capital of Israel and Israel alone, and therefore, we don't think it's a good idea. We know that the [Biden] administration has a different way of looking at this, but since it is happening in Israel, we are sure they are listening to us very carefully.”

“It is clear that any step towards this direction [opening the Kosovo's embassy in Jerusalem] will not serve the Palestinian cause and undermine the vision of a two-state solution.”

“We couldn’t allow the Palestinians to stand as a roadblock to a broader Middle East peace. So we went to our friends and partners and allies and we built political capital. And one way we built political capital in Israel was by moving the embassy to Jerusalem, one way we did it was by recognising the Golan Heights, as Israeli territory. These were facts that were never going to change on the ground. Jerusalem was never going to change being the capital of Israel. Israel was never going to give the Golan Heights back to Assad or any other regime in Syria. We did the same thing. We built political capital with Bahrain, with Morocco with the UAE by letting them know that we would stand with them, by getting out of the Iran nuclear deal which was a serious threat to the region.”

“That was discussed [moving the Serbian embassy in Israel to Jerusalem]… The next steps will, of course, be discussed and it all depends … on Israel’s actions after that. We have not accepted anything so far, nothing has been signed. We will see how the situation develops and how Israel will behave in the future when it comes to their relationship with Kosovo.”

“There is no EU member state with an embassy in Jerusalem. Since Kosovo and Serbia identified EU accession or EU integration as their strategic priority, the EU expects both to act in line with this commitment, so the European perspective is not undermined.”

“They thought we should call on Israel to recognize Kosovo, and we said we couldn’t because it undermines our policy. We said that if Israel and Pristina agree on that – fine. We also told Israel that if they respect Serbia, then our country will move the embassy to Jerusalem.”
