Amichai Chikli “The US is not projecting strength under [Biden's] leadership, and it's harming Israel and other countries. He said 'Don't' at the start of the war - to Hezbollah, as well as Iran. We saw the result. If I were an American citizen with the right to vote, I'd vote for Trump and Republicans.” 8 hours ago
  • Nikolay Mitrokhin
Nikolay Mitrokhin “The return of Crimea is absolutely unrealistic. Before the failure of Ukraine's counteroffensive last summer there was a chance to return the annexed peninsula had Ukrainian forces reached the Azov Sea and started shelling the Crimean bridge and the Kerch Strait that divides the Azov and Black seas. But now it's hardly real to penetrate Russian defence farther than the takeover of the Kinburn peninsula.” 8 hours ago

“A roof has been installed on the annex to the reported Centrifuge Enrichment Facility, so the annex is now externally complete. Near the light water reactor (LWR), we have observed that the new building that had been under construction since April 2021 has been completed, and construction has started on two adjacent buildings. The conduct of a nuclear test would contravene UN Security Council resolutions and would be a cause for serious concern.”

“The IAEA [International Atomic Energy Agency] representatives in both Tehran and Vienna were told about these important details: the facility was severely destroyed, in particular where the cameras were supposed to be located. It is regrettable that neither the IAEA nor the countries that have made monitoring claims against us condemned that terrorist act.”

“I am glad to say that today we were able to have a very constructive result, which has to do with the continuity of the operation of the agency's equipment here. The arrangement was indispensable for us to provide the necessary guarantee and information to the I.A.E.A. [International Atomic Energy Agency] and to the world that everything is in order.”

“[The IAEA report] appears to indicate North Korea has resumed producing plutonium for its nuclear weapons programme. While North Korea already has a significant stockpile of nuclear weapons, this suggests it is moving to expand its current arsenal.”

“The US is confident that the government of Japan is in very full consultations with the IAEA [International Atomic Energy Agency]. The IAEA has set up a very rigorous process and I know that Japan has weighed all the options and the effects and they've been very transparent about the decision and the process. We think we have confidence in the ability of IAEA and Japan and our relationship with the agency. We need to see how it progresses, and how they do, but we don't think it is appropriate for the US to jump into a process that's already underway and where there are very clear rules and expectations.”

“The act against the Natanz nuclear enrichment centre shows the defeat of the opponents of the country's industrial and political advancements in preventing the nuclear industry's significant development. While condemning this desperate move, the Islamic Republic of Iran emphasises the need for a confrontation by the international bodies and the (International Atomic Energy Agency) against this nuclear terrorism.”

“Today's development can maintain the path of diplomacy opened by Iran and the agency [IAEA - International Atomic Energy Agency] and create the grounds for the full implementation of commitments by all JCPOA [Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action] parties. Iran hopes that JCPOA participants can guarantee the full implementation of the JCPOA by all sides by using this opportunity and through serious cooperation.”

“It won't be the end of the world but it won't be good if the nuclear deal signatories fail to come to an agreement in those three months. Iran will continue to take steps out of the JCPOA [Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action] and to reduce cooperation with the IAEA [International Atomic Energy Agency], increasing suspicions that it is working on weapons. Iranians will continue to suffer from the impact of sanctions. Iranian politicians opposed to the deal and to any relaxation of tensions with the West will get stronger, and Iran will likely also be more difficult to deal with in Iraq, Yemen, Afghanistan, et cetera.”

“We reached a temporary bilateral technical understanding whereby the agency is going to continue its necessary verification and monitoring activities for a period of up to three months. We agreed that we are going to keep this understanding we reached under review constantly – so if we want to suspend it or extend it, this can be done. The hope of the IAEA has been to be able to stabilise a situation which was very unstable and I think this technical understanding does it, so that other political consultations at other levels can take place.”
