  • Volodymyr Zelenskiy
Volodymyr Zelenskiy “Bolstering Ukraine's air defence and expediting the delivery of F-16s to Ukraine are vital tasks. There are no rational explanations for why Patriots, which are plentiful around the world, are still not covering the skies of Kharkiv and other cities.” 15 hours ago
  • Ana Piquer
Ana Piquer “Reducing gang violence by replacing it with state violence cannot be a success. The Salvadoran government had adopted disproportionate measures, denying, minimising and concealing human rights violations. Bukele had created a false illusion that he had found the magic formula to solve the very complex problems of violence and criminality in a seemingly simple way. The international community must respond in a robust, articulate and forceful manner, condemning any model of public security that is based on human rights violations.” 19 hours ago
  • Xi Jinping
Xi Jinping “China is building a first-class business environment that is market oriented. In traditional areas like trade and new ones such as climate change and artificial intelligence, China and the United States should become boosters for each other's development, not obstructions on each other.” 19 hours ago
  • Benjamin Netanyahu
Benjamin Netanyahu “I thought the US decision in the Security Council was a very, very bad move. The worst part about it was that it encouraged Hamas to take a hard line and to believe that international pressure will prevent Israel from freeing the hostages and destroying Hamas. It [the cancellation of a planned visit to Washington by Israeli top aides] was a message first and foremost to Hamas: 'Don't bet on this pressure, it's not going to work'. I hope they got the message.” 20 hours ago

“Maximum composure, concentration of forces is now required from counterintelligence agencies, including military intelligence. It is necessary to severely suppress the actions of foreign special services, quickly identify traitors, spies and saboteurs. Russia's borders must also be strengthened. Work must be intensified through the border services and the Federal Security Service [FSB]. And it [the border] must be reliably covered. Any attempts to violate it must be thwarted quickly and effectively using whatever forces and means we have at our disposal, including mobile action units and special forces.”

“What they [FSB] say is this was a targeted attack against the daughter, not the father. I find it rather strange, all of it. It's a bizarre thing. For a professional security service to send a mother and daughter hit squad - it's a novelty like American SEALS or Israeli intelligence operatives. The culprits miraculously got across the border into Estonia out of reach, and that leaves a lot of question marks.”

“It is not Memorial's history research that drew his [Vladimir Putin] ire. The real reason is that the organisation linked that effort to defending human rights in the present. It maintained its own human rights centre, which monitored abuses and designated political prisoners. It also organised an annual vigil in front of the former KGB (currently FSB) building in Moscow, with thousands coming to read out the names of terror victims in a powerful 'never again' message to modern abusers of human rights.”
