  • Volodymyr Zelenskiy
Volodymyr Zelenskiy “Bolstering Ukraine's air defence and expediting the delivery of F-16s to Ukraine are vital tasks. There are no rational explanations for why Patriots, which are plentiful around the world, are still not covering the skies of Kharkiv and other cities.” 13 hours ago
  • Ana Piquer
Ana Piquer “Reducing gang violence by replacing it with state violence cannot be a success. The Salvadoran government had adopted disproportionate measures, denying, minimising and concealing human rights violations. Bukele had created a false illusion that he had found the magic formula to solve the very complex problems of violence and criminality in a seemingly simple way. The international community must respond in a robust, articulate and forceful manner, condemning any model of public security that is based on human rights violations.” 17 hours ago
  • Xi Jinping
Xi Jinping “China is building a first-class business environment that is market oriented. In traditional areas like trade and new ones such as climate change and artificial intelligence, China and the United States should become boosters for each other's development, not obstructions on each other.” 17 hours ago
  • Benjamin Netanyahu
Benjamin Netanyahu “I thought the US decision in the Security Council was a very, very bad move. The worst part about it was that it encouraged Hamas to take a hard line and to believe that international pressure will prevent Israel from freeing the hostages and destroying Hamas. It [the cancellation of a planned visit to Washington by Israeli top aides] was a message first and foremost to Hamas: 'Don't bet on this pressure, it's not going to work'. I hope they got the message.” 18 hours ago

“It's an issue of reunification, complete reunification, and … of Taiwan coming back to the motherland. Use of force was the last thing China wanted, as it was waiting for a peaceful reunification. But we cannot, we can never rule out the option to use other means, so when necessary, when compelled, we are ready to use all necessary means. As to what does it mean, 'all necessary means'? You can use your imagination, but … [the] Chinese people are absolutely determined to protect our sovereignty, territorial integrity, we will never allow Taiwan to be separated from China.”

“I have noted those remarks of the US side. We deplore and reject Secretary Blinken's statement. Since China and the US established diplomatic ties in 1979, US administrations, including the current one, have all clearly stated that they would adhere to the one-China policy. The China-US Joint Communiqué on the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations and the August 17 Communiqué clearly noted that 'the United States of America recognized the Government of the People's Republic of China as the sole legal government of China, and it acknowledged the Chinese position that there is but one China and Taiwan is part of China.' In the Shanghai Communiqué, the U.S. side also declared that 'The United States acknowledges that all Chinese on either side of the Taiwan Strait maintain there is but one China and that Taiwan is a part of China. The United States Government does not challenge that position.' The US admits that Taiwan is part of China, but keeps talking about the mainland's potential aggression of Taiwan. Isn't this self-contradictory since a country can not 'invade' part of its own territory? The US leadership has stated on multiple occasions that the US does not support 'Taiwan independence'. However, the US side has not stopped selling arms to and having official contact with Taiwan, which have sent wrong signals to 'Taiwan independence' forces. We have this stern warning for the US side: The historical trend of China's reunification cannot be held back, and the one-China principle is what underpins peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait. The US side shall not underestimate the strong resolve, determination and capability of the 1.4 billion Chinese people in defending national sovereignty and territorial integrity. Reneging on the commitment will push Taiwan to dangerous waters and bring unbearable cost to the US itself.”

“US politicians keep hyping a 'diplomatic boycott' without even being invited to the Games. This wishful thinking and pure grandstanding is aimed at political manipulation. It is a grave travesty of the spirit of the Olympic Charter, a blatant political provocation and a serious affront to the 1.4 billion Chinese people. It will only make the Chinese people and the world see clearly US politicians' anti-China nature and hypocrisy.”

“The China-US trade war has lasted for more than three and a half years. Instead of being weakened, China's economy has taken a step forward in comparison with the scale of the US. The Chinese people are more confident and their stamina continues to increase. We are clearly aware that all this is the basis for the US to consider using non-trade war coercive methods to discuss issues with China.”

“Resolving the Taiwan question and realizing national reunification has never become so weightier on the shoulders of all Chinese people. Not only the US, but also some other countries are trying to use the Taiwan question as a card to play against Beijing. A fundamental solution to the Taiwan question is becoming all the more reasonable day by day.”
