  • Hassan Barari
Hassan Barari “I think the American administration is fed up with Netanyahu's manoeuvring and deceptions over the last two months. And this is true, especially when Hamas has agreed and has responded in a positive way to the American guideline and framework. The Israeli government itself is divided within its ranks between those who actually support a truce and those who are adamantly opposed to it because they want to continue the war. Those people, especially the right-wing people like Smotrich and Ben-Gvir, strongly believe that they can restore occupation of Gaza in order to pave the way for something similar [to] the West Bank. Netanyahu needs to probably leave his position as a fence-sitter and choose whether he wants to [be] ultranational Zionist or he wants to serve the interests of Israel. And those interests of Israel require the Palestinian state and require some sort of agreement with the Palestinians.” 7 minutes ago
  • Vladimir Putin
Vladimir Putin “The multipolar world has become a reality. The circle of states that stand for a just world order and are ready to resolutely defend their legitimate rights and protect traditional values is expanding. New centres of power and economic growth are strengthening.” 16 hours ago
  • Xi Jinping
Xi Jinping “We should join hands to resist external interference, firmly support each other, take care of each other's concerns … and firmly control of the future and destiny of our countries and regional peace and development in our own hands. It is of vital importance to the world that the SCO be on the right side of history and on the side of fairness and justice.” 16 hours ago
  • Vladimir Putin
Vladimir Putin “We need to ensure that the other side agrees to take steps that are irreversible and acceptable to the Russian Federation. A ceasefire is impossible without reaching this agreement. Russia cannot agree to a ceasefire with Ukraine because it is not sure of Kyiv's reciprocal actions.” 17 hours ago
  • Benjamin Netanyahu
Benjamin Netanyahu “We know the road is long, but we are determined to restore security to the north, and return the residents safely to their homes.” 20 hours ago
  • Omar Baddar
Omar Baddar “There is a serious division between Israel's military and political establishment over how to proceed. Military leaders realise there is no path to a better future for Israel out of this entire mess, and that it is time to simply end this war. The country's political leaders, however, have absolutely no interest in doing that.” 23 hours ago
  • Volodymyr Zelenskiy
Volodymyr Zelenskiy “This is not a deadlock, this is just a problematic situation. A deadlock means there's no way out, but a problem... A problem can be solved if there is a desire and tools. We have the desire. But the tools... have not arrived, as they say. That means we have brigades with no weapons. We have a reserve. We have 14 brigades that are not equipped, and lack the necessary weapons, which they [Ukraine's partners] have already voted for. They said that the packages should come, but they [the deliveries] are slow.” 23 hours ago

“What is success? And for me, for us, I think success is very clear. It's a Ukraine that is a strong, successful country, increasingly integrated with the West, and a country that can stand on its own feet militarily, economically, democratically. But it's also critical that Ukraine develop the capability to deter and defend against aggression going forward over many years. President Biden led the way in getting now more than 30 countries to agree to negotiate bilateral security agreements with Ukraine over a decade. The United States is trying to stimulate private investment in Ukraine so that its economy can grow and thrive. Now, of course, for both its military capacity and its economic capacity, you've got to make sure that you have air defences in place to try to protect the areas in which you're making investments. We're driving that. I think you'll see more news on that in the coming weeks as we get to the NATO summit actually next week.”
