You can imagine that any extensive military action there will have a devastating effect on the humanitarian situation. People are already suffering for lack of shelter, food, medicine, sanitation. The current scale of the conflict … is [already] leading to a daily loss of life for men, women, and children. And I think the international community is conscious, if not tainted … and strained by what is happening to civilians in Gaza.”
