“Over 200 days of war have already killed or maimed tens of thousands of children in Gaza. For hundreds of thousands of children in the border city of Rafah, there is added fear of an escalated military operation that would bring catastrophe on top of catastrophe for children. Nearly all of the some 600,000 children now crammed into Rafah are either injured, sick, malnourished, traumatised or living with disabilities.”

“We cannot allow what should be a lawful protest to turn into a violent spectacle that saves and serves no purpose. There's no place for acts of hate in our city. I want to continue to commend the professionalism of the police department and to thank Columbia University. It was a tough decision, we understood that. But with the very clear evidence of their observation and the clear evidence from our intelligence division, that they understood it was time to move and the action had to end and we brought it to a peaceful conclusion.”

“Because of the consequences of the pandemic, it is important that we work together to recover our economies and accelerate the region’s economies. That is why we are presenting a plan with over 9 billion euros in grants and 20 billion euros in guarantees. The total amount represents one third of the total GDP of the Western Balkan countries. Certain accounts show that this injection could be expected to increase regional GDP by 3.6 percent, and there are those who say that growth will be higher. We see the potential in regional cooperation and the plan is therefore regional – in the design, participation and benefits.”
