IPSEs IN THE LAST 24H
  • Steve Witkoff
Steve Witkoff “The meeting was positive, upbeat, constructive. Everybody was there to get to the right outcome.” 22 hours ago
  • Marco Rubio
Marco Rubio “Ending the war in Ukraine could unlock the door for incredible opportunities that exist to partner with the Russians geopolitically on issues of common interest and, frankly, economically on issues that hopefully will be good for the world and also improve our relations in the long term.” 22 hours ago
  • Sergey Lavrov
Sergey Lavrov “We explained today that the deployment of any troops, any armed forces from NATO countries but under other flags, either the European Union or national flags, changes nothing in this context. For us, of course, this is unacceptable.” 22 hours ago
  • Marco Rubio
Marco Rubio “Russia and the United States have agreed to restore their embassies in Moscow and Washington to previous staffing levels to facilitate continued diplomatic engagement. We will need active work of diplomatic missions capable of functioning normally to be able to continue these contacts.” 22 hours ago
  • Jana Puglierin
Jana Puglierin “February 2022 destroyed our faith in a collective security order with Russia and showed us the dark side of our fundamental dependence on Russia and China in critical areas. February 2025 shows us that the Americans no longer feel responsible for European security - and that their interests are fundamentally different from ours.” 22 hours ago
  • Volodymyr Zelenskiy
Volodymyr Zelenskiy “Ukraine, Europe in a broad sense - and this includes the European Union, Turkiye, and the UK - should be involved in conversations and the development of the necessary security guarantees with America regarding the fate of our part of the world.” 22 hours ago
  • Mariia Mezentseva
Mariia Mezentseva “It's not yet very clear how this negotiating table will look. But defence and justice must be at the forefront of any solution to end the war, and the US, Europe and Ukraine must be on board. It's not Russia who can dictate the rules because they are the invaders. It has to be absolutely [reversed].” 22 hours ago

“The city of Aleppo is home to two Kurdish-dominated neighborhoods under the control of the Kurdish-led SDF/YPG and a significant number of displaced people from Afrin (which is under Turkish control) living in Til Rifaat in northern Aleppo. It is unlikely the HTS will accept the YPG from controlling the airport. Russia, for the first time, has also carried out airstrikes in Aleppo, killing several civilians and rebel fighters. The rising influence of HTS also poses a threat to the YPG's presence in northern Aleppo. Notably, the YPG/SDF withdrew from Nubl and Zahra without a fight, having moved in after regime and Iran-backed militias previously took control of those towns.”

“There is no legitimate parliament, and therefore, an illegitimate parliament cannot elect a new president. Thus, no inauguration can take place, and my mandate continues until a legitimately elected parliament is formed.”

“There are not strong enough words to express the grief and outrage at loss of staff member Ahmad Faisal Isleem al-Qadi, who was killed in an Israeli air strike in Khan Younis, southern Gaza. This war has been the deadliest on record for the killing of UN and aid workers with at least 337 reported killed since October 2023. Violence against civilians and humanitarian workers is unacceptable and it must stop. There must be a ceasefire. There must be accountability.”

“Central and northwestern parts of the city [Aleppo] are now fully under the control of the HTS-led fighters, and that the rebels also claim to be advancing towards the northwestern city of Hama. That this happened in just four days is unbelievable. Now the question is: will the regime or Russia or Iran let HTS have full control of the second-largest city in Syria, or are they going to hit back?”

“Merz [Friedrich Merz, leader of the opposition Christian Democratic Union (CDU)] wants to give Russia, a nuclear power, an ultimatum on possible Taurus missile deliveries to Ukraine. I can only say: be careful! You can't play Russian roulette with Germany's security. When it comes to matters of war and peace, you need a cool head.”

“Reserves are collapsing, businesses in the north and south are collapsing, the cost of living is skyrocketing, and what is the government doing? Transferring hundreds of millions to coalition funds tomorrow. Instead of prioritising the reconstruction of the south and the north, taking care of reservists and fighting the cost of living, this government continues to waste public money on political deals.”
