Journalist Emre Orman, who is sought by police, is also a client of MLSA. MLSA will provide legal support to any journalists who do not have legal counsel.” 9 hours ago

Anitta Hipper “Let me recall the European Council's conclusion from 21 March, where the Council is also reiterating its unwavering support to Ukraine's independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity. And the last point on these referendums, that were a total sham and [conducted] at gunpoint. When it comes to the discussion on peace talks, our position is very clear, and I would like to reiterate two main points. One, the EU's position for peace is that it is for Ukraine to decide the actual conditions, and the second point that nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine.” 9 hours ago

“Trump's threats could mark a return to the Monroe Doctrine, a 19th-century policy aimed at dissuading Europe's colonial powers from interfering with the political affairs of the Americas. In this case, the message would be that Latin America is part of the US sphere of influence and that China should back off. Perhaps the Panama Canal is just the first step towards building that narrative. The risk is that Trump's aggressive rhetoric backfires on the US. If Trump starts to threaten Panama's security, maybe Panama will shift its support to China because Beijing is not a threat.”

“It's a clever move by Panama's authorities because they know that Hutchison Ports will comply and that the audit will most likely not reveal anything suspicious.”

“The audit is one of the few things Panama's authorities can do right now to try to counter Trump's accusations and alleviate US concerns. It's [Hutchison Ports] one of the world's leading port investors, with massive portfolios. They have interests in 53 ports worldwide and more than 24 countries.”

“He [Zelenskyy] shouldn't have allowed this war [Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine] to happen. Zelenskyy is no angel. Zelenskyy was fighting a much bigger entity, much bigger, much more powerful. He shouldn't have done that, because we could have made a deal.”

“Sanctions against Russia have done more harm to Europe than to Russia .. sanctions that do more harm to those who impose them than to those who are sanctioned do not make much sense. That is why we have always argued for an end to the sanctions policy as soon as possible. For the time being, we need to discuss the issue with our European allies, with the members of the European Union, in view of the new situation. So far, everyone has seen the extension of sanctions as automatic, but we do not think it is automatic now.”

“They [EU] took court cases with Apple, and they supposedly won a case that most people didn't think was much of a case. They won billions from Google. I think they're after Facebook for billions and billions. These are American companies. They shouldn't be doing that. As far as I'm concerned, it's a form of taxation.  From the standpoint of America, the EU treats us very, very unfairly. Very badly. They essentially don't take our farm products, and they don't take our cars. Yet they send cars to us by the millions. They put tariffs on things that we want to do.”

“My message to  every business in the world is very simple: Come make your product in America, and we will give you among the lowest taxes of any nation on earth. But if you don't make your product in America, which is your prerogative, then very simply you will have to pay a tariff. Differing amounts, but a tariff. They say that there's light shining all over the world since the election. And even countries that we aren't particularly friendly with are happy because they understand there is a future, how great the future will be. Under our leadership, America is back and open for business.”

“I don't think that Trump would be able to get the Saudis or other OPEC members to boost output to pressure the Kremlin on Ukraine. It is most unlikely that Saudi Arabia, the UAE or the other OPEC producers will either want to engage in such a political move against fellow OPEC+ member Russia or to take any action which would result in them losing export earnings and giving a bigger market share to U.S. producers. OPEC producers are still angry at the total disregard from Washington when the shale revolution boosted U.S. crude production and exports, taking market share from them.”

“I am ironclad in my assessment that the nominee, Mr. Hegseth, is prepared to be the next secretary of defense. The Senate needs to confirm this nominee as fast as possible.”

“Is behaviors starkly contrast with what is expected of the U.S. military. I remain concerned about the message that confirming Mr. Hegseth sends to women currently serving and those aspiring to join. These behaviors [infidelity on multiple occasions] starkly contrast the values and discipline expected of service members. Above all, I believe that character is the defining trait required of the Secretary of Defense, and must be prioritized without compromise.”

“Is this [Pete Hegseth] the best man we have to lead the greatest military in the world? One of the kindest words that might be used to describe Mr. Hegseth is erratic, and that's a term you don't want at DOD. He has a clear problem of judgment.”

“This is a blatantly unconstitutional order. Frankly I have difficulty understanding how a member of the bar would state unequivocally that this is a constitutional order. It just boggles my mind. I've been on the bench for over four decades. I can't remember another case where the question presented was as clear as this one is. This is a blatantly unconstitutional order. Where were the lawyers when this decision was being made?”

“I'm going to ask Saudi Arabia and OPEC to bring down the cost of oil, which, frankly, I'm surprised they didn't do before the election. That didn't show a lot of love by them not doing it. I was a little surprised by that. If the price came down, the Russia-Ukraine war would end immediately. Right now, the price is high enough that that war will continue. You got to bring down the oil price. You could end that war.”
