Journalist Emre Orman, who is sought by police, is also a client of MLSA. MLSA will provide legal support to any journalists who do not have legal counsel.” 10 hours ago

Anitta Hipper “Let me recall the European Council's conclusion from 21 March, where the Council is also reiterating its unwavering support to Ukraine's independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity. And the last point on these referendums, that were a total sham and [conducted] at gunpoint. When it comes to the discussion on peace talks, our position is very clear, and I would like to reiterate two main points. One, the EU's position for peace is that it is for Ukraine to decide the actual conditions, and the second point that nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine.” 10 hours ago

“Trump, he told me, and he later publicly stated it, that he will be doing everything to end the war this year. We want to end the war this year. But not only with the word 'rapidly,' but also 'justly,'. Ukrainians deserved the right to live in security.”

“Let me make one final plea, Mr. President. Millions have put their trust in you. And as you told the nation yesterday, you have felt the providential hand of a loving God. In the name of our God, I ask you to have mercy upon the people in our country who are scared now. There are gay, lesbian, and transgender children in Democratic, Republican, and Independent families, some who fear for their lives. And the people-the people who pick our crops, clean our office buildings, labor in poultry farms and meatpacking plants, wash the dishes after we eat in restaurants, and work the night shifts in hospitals-they may not be citizens or have the proper documentation, but the vast majority of immigrants are not criminals. They pay taxes and are good neighbors. They are faithful members of our churches and mosques, synagogues, gurdwaras, and temples. I ask you to have mercy, Mr. President, on those in our communities whose children fear that their parents will be taken away. And that you help those who are fleeing persecution in their own lands find compassion and welcome here. Our God teaches us that we are to be merciful to the stranger, for we were all once strangers in this land. May God grant us the strength and courage to honor the dignity of every human being, to speak the truth to one another in love, and walk humbly with each other and our God for the good of all people, the good of all people in this nation, and the world.”

“The arrival of over a million people into South Sudan is a stark and sobering statistic and truly shows the increasing scale of this crisis. The people of South Sudan continue to show extraordinary generosity, welcoming those in need and sharing what little resources they have, but they cannot shoulder this massive responsibility alone.”

“I wish the ADL [Anti-Defamation League] would extend the same careful approach and benefit of the doubt it offered Musk to members of Arab and Muslim communities. This organisation has a history of censoring our speech and going after our speech and our freedom of expression, and it has made life difficult for many Arabs, Palestinians, Muslims and our supporters in this country.”

“I'm descended from Holocaust survivors, and I know a Nazi salute when I see one, and that was absolutely what Elon Musk was doing. ADL's defence of Musk is obscene. It's not surprising - although it is shameful - that the ADL [Anti-Defamation League] has spent recent years focusing their attention on egging on a crackdown on protesters for Palestinian human rights and antiwar protesters.”

“The ADL [Anti-Defamation League] is being crystal clear about where it stands. They have made it as clear as possible that they are not a reputable source of information when it comes to anti-Semitism. They are not actually prioritising the protection of Jewish communities at all.”

“Ukraine not only stopped gas transit through its territory but also allegedly refuses to negotiate, while its decision threatens Hungary, Slovakia and the entire region. Kyiv is no longer in a secure enough position to afford such behaviour. If they remain aggressive and hostile, they will lose. Eventually, we will get angry and fight back. The way Kyiv is trying to control and shape relations with Central European countries today is unacceptable.”

“North Korea, for one, may have less incentive to engage directly with the United States. While Trump during his first term thought he could reach a deal with Pyongyang, it is unclear whether North Korea has an interest in engaging with the U.S. now that it has broader support from Russia and China.”

“Trump's team will try to peel countries away from China. They seem to want to wedge Russia, North Korea and Iran away from China, which means differentiating these threats rather than implying that they are inter-related. So pushing for a deal with Pyongyang and another one with Moscow seems most likely to me.”

“The dilemma for Trump, who has expressed a desire to 'get along with Russia,' and who is trying to squeeze China on trade, is that Moscow's partnership with Beijing limits both Russian willingness to engage with Washington and Chinese vulnerability to U.S. pressure.”

“It is very understandable that people are worried. But the most important thing now is that people remain calm. We must be able to meet and talk about this calmly. That's what we're working on [a meeting with Trump]. You can't get around the fact that if they [the U.S.] want to talk about Greenland, they have to talk to Greenland. The Greenlandic people must make it clear what they want to be. We do not want to be Danes. We do not want to be Americans.”

“A lot is at stake for both sides. Our first priority will be to engage early, discuss common interests, and be ready to negotiate. We will be pragmatic, but we will always stand by our principles. To protect our interests and uphold our values - that is the European way.”

“Trump is a skilled negotiator and he will do what he can to keep his negotiating partners a little off balance. But Canada is a good negotiator, too and it's willing to inflict economic pain on the U.S. to get Trump to back down. While Canada's priority is to avoid the tariffs altogether and foster a very positive relationship with the U.S., the country won't roll over in the face of Trump's threats. Despite Trump's rhetoric that he doesn't need anything from Canada, if Trump really wants to usher in a golden age of America with a booming economy, he's going to need Canadian natural resources like oil, lumber, steel, aluminum and critical minerals to make that happen. That gives Canada some leverage. Everything is on the table and I support the principle of dollar-for-dollar matching tariffs. It's something we're absolutely going to be looking at if they move forward. We are prepared for every possible scenario.”
