  • Volodymyr Zelenskiy
Volodymyr Zelenskiy “There are prospects [for a new Ukrainian counteroffensive]. First and foremost we need to stabilise the situation at the line of contact. As you can see, it is not stable. I would say this: it's their turn now. They need to be stopped, and we will stop them. Then we need the appropriate staffing for the brigades so that they can take the next counteroffensive step.” 8 hours ago
  • Giorgi Revishvili
Giorgi Revishvili “Despite the Georgian Dream having the majority to override the veto, it was important for the president to make the move. The president rightfully said how it [foreign agent's law] is a Russia law and contradicts all of European standards. There is also a fundamental shift in the political landscape with the younger generation becoming increasingly involved in politics. The youth is the driving force behind these protests.” 9 hours ago
  • Salome Zourabichvili
Salome Zourabichvili “Today I set a veto … on the law, which is Russian in its essence and which contradicts our constitution.” 9 hours ago
  • Mohammed Jamjoom
Mohammed Jamjoom “What we're seeing more and more of in the past few days is that there is a huge amount of disagreement amongst war cabinet members about the plan going forward for Gaza. And this echoes also the concerns by US government that has said repeatedly that Netanyahu needs to try to figure out a plan for a post-war Gaza scenario.” 9 hours ago
  • Benny Gantz
Benny Gantz “If you choose to lead the nation to the abyss, we will withdraw from the government [by June 8], turn to the people, and form a government that can bring about a real victory. We did not claim dominance. We did not demand jobs. All we wanted was to serve our country and our people. For many months, the unity was indeed real and meaningful. It prevented serious mistakes, led to great achievements, and returned home over a hundred hostages. Together, we faced the hardships of the campaign, protected the nation with a good and strong spirit - and gave the fighters on the front a feeling of being backed by a shared destiny. But lately, something has gone wrong. Essential decisions were not made. A small minority has taken over the command bridge of the Israeli ship of state and is steering her toward the rocks. I came here today to tell the truth. And the truth is hard: while Israeli soldiers show supreme bravery on the front, some of the people who sent them into battle behave with cowardice and irresponsibility.” 13 hours ago
  • Volodymyr Zelenskiy
Volodymyr Zelenskiy “Let's not forget about other fronts beyond the Kharkiv front: the Kramatorsk, Pokrovsk, and Kurakhove fronts, and the southern fronts; it's tough on all of those fronts, and our forces are fighting back with dignity. I am especially grateful to the soldiers who repelled the Russian assault on Chasiv Yar. Our forces destroyed more than 20 pieces of the occupiers' equipment. Good job!” 13 hours ago
  • António Guterres
António Guterres “The only permanent way to end the cycle of violence and instability is through a two-state solution, Israel and Palestine living side-by-side in peace and security, with Jerusalem as capital of both states.” 15 hours ago
  • Vladimir Putin
Vladimir Putin “Civilians are dying there [on border regions such as Belgorod]. It's obvious. They are shooting directly at the city center, at residential areas. And I said publicly that if this continues, we will be forced to create a security zone, a buffer zone. That is what we are doing.” 16 hours ago
  • John Holman
John Holman “At present Ukraine is outmanned in terms of soldiers in parts of the front line even before the latest Russian attacks. Ukraine said that there were seven Russian soldiers to one Ukrainian soldier, so that's going to put fresh pressure on them.” 17 hours ago

“Saturday's rally in Iowa, though, was different. This one was attended by longtime Iowa US Sen. Chuck Grassley, Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds, Iowa Reps. Mariannette Miller-Meeks and Ashley Hinson, and other mainstream Republican officials. Some of these very same people, who just nine months ago were slamming Trump for his role in the Capitol riots, were now only too happy to be seen supporting him. This is politics at its worst - and at its most dangerous for our democracy.”

“Republican obstruction on the debt ceiling over the last few weeks has been reckless, it's been irresponsible. But nonetheless today Republicans will have an opportunity to get exactly what they kept asking for. The first and easiest option is this: Republicans can simply get out of the way and we can agree to skip the filibuster vote so we can proceed to final passage of this bill.”

“These bills are about competitiveness versus complacency. They're about opportunity, versus decay. To support these investments is to support a rise in America - Americans moving. To oppose these investments is to be complicit in America's decline.”

“They [Republicans] won't raise it even though defaulting on the debt would lead to a self-inflicted wound that takes our economy over a cliff. Not only are Republicans refusing to do their job, they're threatening to use their power to prevent us from doing our job: saving the economy from a catastrophic event. I think, quite frankly, it's hypocritical, dangerous and disgraceful. Their obstruction and irresponsibility knows absolutely no bounds, especially as we're clawing our way out of this pandemic.”

“What that means [considerations of Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen who estimated that if Congress fails to act a historic debt default could occur around October 18] is that at that point, the US will no longer be able to borrow more money to pay its bills - that has never happened before in history. And economists are saying if that does happen, it could be disastrous, throwing the US economy into recession and echoing across global markets.”

“There are a lot of factors that suggest the Democrats are going to have a really hard time holding the House majority and the Senate's 50-50, and so they lose one net seat and the Senate majority is gone. With Biden's majorities in the House and Senate in peril, you'd feel better about Democrats' chances if his approval rating was more like it was two months ago than it is now.”

“He's [Joe Biden] had a bad run between issues on the border, the way the pandemic is beginning to shape up, and Afghanistan. The administration has struggled on the policy side and struggled in ways that people care about and so you'd expect that to do some damage to a president's public approval ratings.”

“The Afghan imbroglio and the Aukus row betrayed a tin ear. Biden truly believes in alliances. But when the chips are down, like his predecessors he acts in America's self-interest, deaf to the consequences for others. Likewise at home, he truly believes in reform. But try as he will, he cannot drown out the reality of a divided nation or the pernicious, still potent legacy of Trump - who daily plots his downfall from the extra-large seat of his Florida golf buggy. Latest poll trends and the political dynamic in Washington point to a Republican takeover of Congress next year, the thwarting of much of Biden's agenda, and a failing, one-term presidency. This gloomy scenario may change. Hopefully it will. But the democratic world can only watch America's unfolding Lear-like drama and, fearing a recurring nightmare in 2024, mutter all-a-tremble: 'Please, not Trump again!'.”

“Republicans promised to overturn Roe v Wade, and they have. Democrats can either abolish the filibuster and expand the court, or do nothing as millions of peoples' bodies, rights, and lives are sacrificed for far-right minority rule. This shouldn't be a difficult decision.”

“The Biden administration just stuck its finger in the eye of the United States Supreme Court and our Constitution with its illegal eviction ban. Joe Biden has no authority to tell people what they can or cannot do with their private property. Employers are begging people to come to work, there's zero excuse for this any more.”

“I've sought out constitutional scholars to determine what is the best possibility, that would come from executive action or the CDCs [Centers for Disease Control and Prevention] judgement. What could they do that was most likely to pass muster constitutionally. The bulk of the constitutional scholarship says that it's not likely to pass constitutional muster. [But] there are several key scholars who think that it may, and it's worth the effort.”

“Freedom of speech doesn't exist for Muslim women in Congress. The benefit of the doubt doesn't exist for Muslim women in Congress. House Democratic leadership should be ashamed of its relentless, exclusive tone policing of Congresswomen of color.”

“Plenty of members of the [Republican] conference are still in perpetual skeptic mode. When you talk to younger conservatives, the issue of climate is No 1 or 2, but for older generations that's not the case. It's important for the future of our country and the party we stop viewing it as a partisan issue. It's moving a very large ship a matter of degrees. It won't happen overnight. Climate is one of the areas I was concerned about in terms of the long-term trajectory of the party. We are seeing first steps in messaging and proposals. There's a recognition that we have not been on the right side of this and we need to get on the right side of this.”

“[Donald Trump holding on the Republican party is the] most important issue that we are facing right now as a country, and we're facing a huge array of issues, so he must not ever again be anywhere close to the Oval Office. Right now I'm very focused on making sure that our party becomes again a party that stands for truth and stands for fundamental principles that are conservative and mostly stands for the constitution, and I won't let a former president or anyone else unravel the democracy,.”

“Remaining silent and ignoring the lie emboldens the liar. I will not sit back and watch in silence while others lead our party down a path that abandons the rule of law and joins the former president's crusade to undermine our democracy.”

“Last week, we saw President Biden, so-called social and community leaders and corporations alike cave to lies about Georgia's new election law. Lies being spread by radical Democrats and the woke left mob. Biden supports moving the MLB game out of Georgia, yet refuses to call on the International Olympic Committee to move the Olympics out of Communist China – which is committing a genocide against the Uyghurs. Biden and the Democrats need to be called out for their hypocrisy and face some pretty basic facts: Election security is not racist. Genocide is wrong. General Secretary Xi's atrocious acts can't be ignored and Communist China can't be allowed to whitewash its crimes on an international stage. President Biden has immense power to help facilitate the relocation of the games, which I have urged him to do. If Biden truly stands for human rights, he will immediately begin this process by offering to host the games in the United States and providing the necessary federal resources to get this done. The American spirit is undefeated and there is no limit to what this great nation can accomplish when united under a common cause. It is now time for President Biden to lead America and the world and make clear that the United States will never tolerate the oppression and genocide occurring in Communist China.”
