If Biden wants to prevent North Korea from acting out, he needs to first provide the government with new incentives to talk-and that means new restrictions Washington can use as carrots. Biden, in other words, needs to take North Korean policy off autopilot and launch a proactive effort to deter Pyongyang. Otherwise, he risks encouraging an already emboldened Kim to stage a major provocation.” 11 hours ago

Christopher Cavoli “Russians don't have the numbers necessary to do a strategic breakthrough. More to the point, they don't have the skill and capability to do it, to operate at the scale necessary to exploit any breakthrough to strategic advantage. They do have the ability to make local advances and they have done some of that.” 11 hours ago

The IPSEs are presented in chronological order based on when the IPSEs have been pronounced.

“In the past, efforts out of Congress centred on sending letters to the WHO or the Executive Branch or to capitals abroad to ask for support for Taiwan's inclusion. This year, however, there was a much more public and thus, more far-reaching, approach. This brought in parliamentarians from across the world - and across party lines. It was likewise able to grow organically on the social media platform, generating statements from other leaders as well as public figures and activists.”

“In withdrawing, the US has made no mention of Taiwan, nor has it announced any plan to set up a new group, a substitute for the WHO. If Taiwan follows the US move and decides not to continue with the campaign, it would basically be giving up this long-time goal – and without an alternative group to join, it would end up isolating itself from the world health system”
